A complete packing guide for females bitten by the travelbug

Are you a woman who adores traveling, solo or with your clan? Are you planning to set-off again or for the first time anytime soon? When travelling, you have to pack right.

The list of items can differ depending on the duration of your trip and the kind of region you are traveling to, so here are the practical things you MUST stuff in your backpack or duffel. For this article, let’s consider you’re going on a 7 day trip. Take a look at the complete packing guide for women.

1 Most important: The Documents

There are certain documents that you need to carry when travelling. What are they?

  • National identity document
  • Passport
  • Visa
  • Driving license

When you’re travelling, a government official such as a policeman or immigration officer may ask for such documents. Additionally, businesses like car rentals and hotels are required to ask for such documents from you.

Also, make sure you carry a card or diary that has the contact details of your family and friends. This can be of a great help in case of an emergency situation.

2 Smart selection of clothes

The idea is to carry minimum weight so that you don’t droop or feel burdened while exploring a new place. So if you think you’ll be able to manage with limited clothes, carry less. If not, then go for quick-dry, light ones.

Talking about what to carry, ensure you have these clothes with you:

  • Try to go for basic coloured clothes, especially bottoms that you can easily pair with any coloured top. This is the key to carry less while still being fashionable and comfortable. Carry 2 pairs of denim, leggings, or leggings of basic colours like black, blue, and white.
  • Carry 3 colourful tees, tops, and shirts that you can close your eyes and mix and match with your bottoms.
  • DO NOT forget your nightwear. You can be minimal with these and carry 1-2.
  • Stock up fancy, blingy dresses only if you plan to go out partying or on a date. Or else, avoid and leave them home.
  • It is better to keep a swimwear. You never know when you would feel like taking a dive. Carry a swimsuit or your favourite bikini set, whatever you feel comfortable in.
  • Take along at least 2 comfortable and breathable bras and panties, provided you’ll wash them after every wear. You can also carry 1-1 for each day as they don’t occupy too much space anyway.
  • Socks are mandatory! Include at least 2 pairs of socks in your luggage.
  • If traveling to a cold country, carry adequate jackets, sweaters, cardigans, and other warmies.
  • Scarves, tank tops, shorts, bandanas, and other clothes and accessories are optional. You can pick them or leave them behind at home.

3 Pick up right footwear

Ditch your stilettos and other fancy, favourite footwear away and make peace with comfortable and durable shoes or converses. No doubt, you want to carry footwear for every attire, but you don’t want to make your bag heavy. So avoid heels and carry 1-2 pairs of comfortable shoes or sandals that won’t bug you with shoe bites. Carrying flip flops is optional.

4 First Aid Kid to keep yourself covered

First aid kit is important so that you don’t have to run to a medical store when you get a cut or wound or when you aren’t feeling great. Stock a small pouch or box with band-aids, gauze bandage, dressing tape, antiseptic liquid, and medicines. The medicines MUST include painkillers, Pepto tablets, tablets for cold, and motion sickness pills.

5 Toiletries are the necessities

Your trip without your bag of toiletries can become a nightmare. Thus, don’t forget these items:

  • Toothbrush, toothpaste, and floss
  • Mosquito repellent
  • Soap/body wash
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Moisturizing cream or lotion
  • Lip balm
  • Comb/hairbrush
  • Your usual make-up
  • Deodorants and perfumes
  • Shaving stuff
  • Your hair-do essentials

6 Carry your gadgets

Traveling without electronics in today’s tech-savvy age can get boring. Some electronics have become the basic necessities of day-to-day life. Don’t compromise with your life and carry your smartphone charger, spare batteries, iPod, earphones or headphones, and hair dryer if necessary. And don’t miss out on carrying your camera and spare batteries – you don’t want to regret not clicking wonderful pictures!

Apart from these, you can stuff your bags with all the required and unavoidable things that constitute your daily life. And not to miss out, carry spacious bag, a rucksack, backpack, or a duffel bag, which isn’t too heavy and is safe. Don’t go for a small bag because you are obviously going to shop and you’ll need extra room in your bags for the new things.

Have a happy, safe, and unwo rried journey. Bon Voyage!
